MIA

       I have been MIA for awhile not on purpose! Been so busy with work and school the kids and running a household. I can honestly say I love it. Never thought I would be a good mom wife or anything else but I am doing it and I love my family. So it makes all the crazy worth while. A little late for what I am thankful for hey who cares right as long as you know what it is "I' am thankful for my family!"
       Christmas is tomorrow very exciting for our son. We have been tracking Santa on the NORAD site. Making him even more excited. For Lacy she is excited but its just not the same when they stop be leaving in Santa. I tell her Santa is still here in the hart to know that sometimes magic can happen even though it comes in forms not made of magical beings. I do know they miss the family around this time and so do I it can be very lonely being away at the holidays. I miss my crazy huge family.
But thanks to skype we will get to have them here via computer.
     On a good note Justin is back in school and I am almost finished I have 6 classes and I will be finished with my Associates in applied science and paralegal studies. You have no idea how excited I am to be finished and have a degree for all my hard work. Hopefully I will be able to get a internship this summer her in Junction city.
     So I leave you all with a message of have a Very Merry Christmas!!!         

Dakota and Boy Scouts

 Dakota got his bobcat badge and his soccer and fishing belt loop. He was super excited! I have to say it's a lot of work but it's nice to see him enjoy it! Justin and him have a camping trip with the Boy Scouts this weekend I'm teaching the photography portion so the boys can get their photography belt loop will be a long day for me but fun at the same time I like teaching! Didn't think I would but I really like my job! So it will make the photography lesson fun to do! 

ooooo so sick

So I was going along doing so well when I wake up at 2am with a fever what the heck sick again not cool. I tossed and turned finally about 4 and tried to move didn't work out so well. I was thinking great this is all I need while Justin is still gone at training super sick with the kids on a Sunday. Well the kids were amazing and took good care of me about 5 I decided I am going to the urgent care good thing I did apparently I had an infection and didn't know it. Got some meds and yaaaa now I am feeling so much better.
Good note we pick up Justin on Thur. super excited a whole month went by in a flash maybe not for him but for me it did. He is doing good and so ready to come home..
Got more school stuff taken care of if all goes well I will be done in the fall 2014 keep fingers crossed I make it online classes can be super tricky but working on it.

Birthday boy and Big news

Dakota had a great Birthday had some of his best friends come and enjoyed all the presents so thank you everyone. The Lego birthday was not easy to put together let me tell you finding things was difficult we needed to get creative so we made the plates and cupcakes. He loved it!!!!

So I got a new Job working full time at the school YAAAAAAA  just finished my first couple of days and catching on on homework now. I need a cape and lots of coffee right now Hubby is gone so I am juggling my work, kids, school and kids after school activates. I am tired but like always some has to put on the superman cape and keep going. Can't wait for him to come home not just to help out but because he is missed. So have to get back to school work.   

Coupon day

So I did the coupon thing today only on stuff I know we use I'm not one of those crazy over coupon people but I got all this the total before savings was $61.75 I saved $29.73 and paid $32.02! Not bad for my first one!! 

 

Started Quilting

Started using my sewing machine I got from my grandma it's old but kicks some but! I can't wait to get all my stuff to tack it out and finish it but I have a long way to go! I think my grandma Elmer would be proud of me for using all she had taught me! I miss her!! 

And he is gone again!

So we are getting back in our routine! Kids getting up better and me getting to the gym work and homework is doing ok. Then he leaves for training for 3 weeks! Dropped him off this morning and away he goes! It's not along time but I'm sure ill be ready for him to come home after a week!! 

Yaaaa We are home

We made it safe and sound almost unpacked but no food in this house. Need to start my list of things to do for today. My boss called and said I got a raise to bad I dont get more hours. This morning I  got my babies of to school Lacy got the classes she wanted so that makes for a happy teenager. Kota was dragging me out of her school saying "Hurry Hurry mom I need to get to 1st grade and meet my teacher" He had a friend from last year in his class that made him happy!! Now for me to get some homework done before work.... Got a very busy day ahead

Day 2

After 15 hours on the road we made it to my Cuz Colters and yes I got some sleep! Got woken up with them in a frantic Janet, Colters wife water broke so they are on there way to the hospital. Got to say by to my aunt and uncle as they dropped puppy's off and followed after! Hit Starbucks and the Golden Arches for some grub top of the gas tank and away we go! Almost forgot the truck has not had a problem so far keep your fingers crossed we make it 😄!

On the road again!

Going back home from leave! Going to miss all our Family back in AZ! But road update drive shaft in the truck is crap took off the front one and driving in 4High till Santa Fe the only place that has one in stock so hoping we make it there other wise all is good! Wish us luck!

Whats going on!

Dakota was home all week so we went to see a free movie in Junction city, Went to the pool and visited the Fort Riley museum. Lacy was at summer camp all week and went to Salina to a water park and found 3bucks bonus trip. Justin and Dakota will most likely be in the Junction City 4th of July parade this week. Justin for the Army and Dakota for the Cub Scouts. Me and Lacy will cheer them on.
Our Garden is growing great we have squash and watermelons growing also our Tomatoes are all most red and ready to pick in the next 2 week so excited I am kinda bummed that I will be gone on Vacation during peek picking time someone else will be eating my yummy Tomatoes.

Memorial day

We have had a great lazy day. Had some steak and been watching the history of the US Army very interesting stuff. But on Sat we took Dakota to his first Cub Scout volunteer outing he helped Junction City American legion bikers place flags on the graves of our Fallen soldiers some where dated back in the 1800's some just said fallen soldier with no name so very sad no name to the poor sole who is barred there. It was a good experience for me and Dakota. Justin was telling him to remember to always place the flag on the left it is the place of honer.  On Sun. we went to the PX carnival with the kids. There was not much their more game both then rides but the kids loved the tilt a whirl the best I think they rode it 12 times so the price of the wrist bands was worth it. Then we went to Aprils house to say goodbye to Stephani she is moving husband just retired 23 years of service she said she is terrified she was a life long Army Brat and this will be her first time in her life away from the military I wish her luck and will miss her. Well I hope everyone has a great day  and never forget the fallen the ones who have served and the ones still serving. Safe return of our good friend Tyrell over sees now we are always thinking of you. 

The perks for a military child

I have to say the Military do care about the kids. I have found out from other spouses that they have some pretty cool programs. The sports are great my kids just finished soccer and had a great time doing it ya it was a lot of days 4 days a week of practice. A game every Sat. the volunteer couches were great. Summer day camp for the kids at a not so bad price it would be much more in the civilian world. Today we went to the exchange with my sons report card and he got a coupon book for a bunch of free stuff. Haircuts subway, burger king, a free comic book and some others. Made him feel super special for getting advanced marks on his report card.
With all the programs they hold for our kids I cant really complain. I was always in sports dance and going going as a kid. I'm so happy my kids have the same chance to do all these things on our limited budget.

Been so long!

Been to long sense my last post. A lot has been going on got a job working at a local school. Just a couple hours a day but it will work for now. Kids have been in soccer so I have been at the soccer field Mon. - Thur. every week. I passed my first class with an A and have two more to go. Been walking 3 times a week averaging 12 miles a week. I have been a busy girl we are hoping to go back to AZ if we can in July depending on funds. He put in for leave so he will be home no matter what but we would like to come home and see everyone we miss you all so very much. Justin goes to WLC in June so me and the kids are all by our self's for the month.  He is going to miss my Birthday again o well he can make it up later. (HE HE) So time to clean up dinner get the kids showered clothes put away and off to dreamland for me! Good night!!!

So much going on!

Well spring break is over had Justin's Mom and Dad come visit that was nice. The kids enjoyed it they were spoiled to death. And they help me keep them busy while they were off from school. :) So yes I am still sane. After they left we got a lil kitty she is so cute and her name is Diesel thanks to Justin.  So far the dog is super Jealous but doing better. Back to work for me today wiggly kids and indoor recess was not fun they got a little restless but sense we got a late snow its super cold again. Hopefully it will warm up and outside we go again yaaaaa. The kids start soccer this week I will be sitting in the car with the heater on its still to cold for me! Lacy has hers Wen. Dakota on Thur. so this week im busy soccer season starts then right after its softball and t-ball. We are hoping to come visit this summer!

Started my Job today

Got a job at the one of the schools on post. Its only a couple hours everyday but it will pay me. So I cant complain. Made it through the first day and still alive tomorrow I will be working with the special needs kids all day. That should be fun I hope I will do ok!
 Still waiting for warmer weather should be coming soon. I cant wait for the hot air urg done with the cold wind snow and rain ready for the hot sun. 

What is going on

     Well somethings have happened nothing to huge through. It snowed again and I took the kids sledding they had a great time Dakota popped up 3 feet in the air and did a face plant is was funny but he didn't think so. They are out of school for parent teacher conferences Dakotas is on Mon. but Lacy had hers. She is doing very well better then before Christmas her grades are c and above she did have D and a F but now she is rocking the good grades thanks to the teachers keeping me informed of what is going on. The school also has an app you can see if she did not turn in a assignment that day it keeps you very informed. So needless to say I am very proud of her doing so well.
     My classes have started the official stat day is Monday but you can get into them early I all ready have 2 weeks of home work done in my paralegal class my computer I have the first week done just need to take the quiz and my Communication class well I am working on it now. So I hope to stay ahead and get good grades. Keep your fingers crossed for me I may need it taking three classes what was I thinking.
     I also had an interview with the schools here I hope I get the job anything would help and I think I might like it. I would be home for the kids and still have time for school and the kids sports they are coming up soon. Still waiting for my CNA test date here they are really slow at getting you a date and getting back to you I thought AZ was bad but KS is worse.
     Had lunch yesterday with some of the people Justin works with they are really nice I enjoyed meeting them and talking to them. It is nice to be let in to that part of his world. As  a spouse you don't really get to much of a peek into what they do our who they work with unless they let you in. So it was a good lunch and it got me out of the house that was nice.
     Ok update on the weight loss  so far I have only lost 8 pounds but that is part my fault I was lacking on the gym part all the snow days they closed post alot this month but im back at the gym and trying to eat better so back to business. Need to look good in shorts this summer hehehe! 
   

Coffee with the honey!

Well valentines was good! Justin out did his self this year made it extra special! He may not bd romantic and all that but some times he just pulls the hart strings! We also got to go eat dinner alone very nice with no family around to take the kids once in awhile makes each time extra special! We have a hole day with no kids while they are at school! What will we. Do lol have a nice quit day!

Been MIA Sorry

Ok well to start no job yet sucky but still trying to find something and still waiting on my CNA test date here in Kansas they are taking forever. I have started taking a fit class it is kicking my but I think later toady I will need a cane to sit because my butt and legs are going to hurt! Trying to feel better about myself instead of sorry it is more invigorating. I decided to start school back so I am using MYCAA to do this so far so good got my program approved in Associates in science and paralegal start on the 4th of March I have 6 classes and I'm done still dreading that math class the most. Saving that one for very last so I can spend all my time trying to get through that one I despise math!!!!! I have volunteered to be the Funds Custdodion for the FRG and so far like it. 
In other happenings in the Marcham household  Justin got moved to Battalion so that is good he likes being outside but I think he will do great he always does. Lacy school grades are so much better I could not be prouder of her she has pulled all her grades up super mom beam right now of how proud I am. : )

Dakota is doing so well he is reading level 1 and some level 2 books math is great he just does well in school loves going so I hope he stays like that. He has got the bike riding down to an art now. Tater well he is still the same loves the dog park and now that it is getting warmer he loves his backyard!!

The Joys Of starting over

Well Starting over in a new place is not working out for me I had a job lined up and she gave it away. I was waiting to take my state test here I understand why but still disappointing. It seems like its going to be ok but its not. We have started to selling off things to make ends met. But are getting far behind. Disappointments keep piling up faster and faster. I am hoping I get a job soon our else we will have nothing left to sell the Army may pay him but what people thing we don't get much as far as pay its almost less then minimum wage we have a place to live but will we eat only time will tell. Job market I'm sure is bad every where it makes it harder when you are next to a huge university and they have all the jobs I'm getting so frustrated and depressed at not finding a job I have never had this much trouble in my life wish me luck I will need it!

Got through the 4 day weekend

    So a start of another week so far not to bad. I have started cleaning drinking my coffee now telling the world how the past few days were. Not to bad my teenager got her math grade up yaaa she is no longer grounded and got to go to the lock in at the bowling ally had to pick her and her friend up at 1 am not fun. But she had a good time that is important she had been grounded for so long now she is free watch out world he he! She did have one miss hap at the end of the night she was sick all night after that. Not sure why but nobody else was so she maybe ate something bad. The rest of the weekend we did not do much but hang around the house. One accomplishment was I walked 6 miles this weekend Tater got to walk with me Kota went one Sat with me on his bike it was the warmest day. The warm weahter is far and few between but you know when its warm everybody is outside cant wait for the warmer weather this AZ girl is missing her sun.
    I see how the Army is good and bad I get to see a lot more of my husband so that always nice. But at the same time I like my quit during the day. He does come home for lunch most days kinda a nice surprise when he does.
   I got my AZ CNA in order mailed off my Kansas app now waiting for my test date I have a job waiting for me soon as I get my Kansas CNA I hope they send my test date soon so I can get it done and start working. I might be taking over the Finance job in the Frg for my husbands unit we will see. I liker the leader we had lunch on Friday was so nice to get out and finally meet someone. We are going to Zumba on Thur. so I have someone to workout with now yaaaa. I'm down about 8 pounds so I'm still working on it. It didn't come on in a day so It will not fall off in a day not giving up.

Week 3

So far I have lost a total off 7 pounds so far Yaaa me and still working on it! I have lunch today with the Frg leader so we will see how that goes. I had my interview yesterday but they could not offer me the job till I get my CNA in Kansas so I hold my life in the hands of the AZ State Board of nursing  so I might as well die because they suck. Talk about a cluster ____ they can never get anything done I have had to deal with them for 7 years so far and have never had a good experience with them never. But I will try to be hopeful urg!  We went to a flick and float the other night with the kids that was fun the played Ice Age 4 had pizza and snacks and the kids got tot swim in a heated pool indoors of course its way to cold for any other kind here. All for the whooping price of 10 bucks for a very low income family we are till I get a job that was great we got to do something without us breaking the bank. Trust me it does not take much to break it. Justin as been on live fire training all the last three days he got to come home early yesterday Mon we didn't see him he got home so late and had to leave again early same tonight. So Ill see him Thur. Well here we go to another week hope to lose 3 more pounds Time to workout!

Day 8

So I am happy to report that I have lost weight 3 pounds is not to bad so far. I have been to the gym twice this week and I go back tomorrow. I'm finding I like going to the gym its time out of the house I'm getting cabin fever so getting out of the house is nice. I have an apt. with The community collage here tomorrow. It is kinda frustrating to put my life on hold with my edu but I guess I will find something to do while I'm here hell maybe ill finish school here! Cant wait to go back home to visit even though I just left I miss everyone! 

My findings in being a Army Spouse

So far I have been one for a little over a year now and I'm finding it is very lonely. We have great networking but as far as people meeting I really don't think it is done. They all talk on the computer but never in person. I withdraw a lot sitting her in my home not having any friends to go visit and have a conversation with. I am wondering why there are so many of them that say I cant go because I have a little one. Let me tell you my kids went everywhere with me back in AZ. I'm really missing my home and Family. I miss going to dinner and being able to stop bye. Sunday coffee with he in laws when I could go. Im not a shy person and finding any friends is getting difficult as well as a job. I read all kinds of spouses comments and so forth on the web pages what ever happened to the military life every one always talked about that everyone is a big family im just not seeing it they are rude and hateful it makes you wan to stay in your home and not go out.  

Went to the gym today that went good and im making something new and healthy lets see if  the family likes it!

Oz

Went to the oz museum yesterday! It was tiny but kinda fun Dakota liked it not sure if Lacy was but it was something to do so she was happy.It was kinda cool to see all the stuff they made for the movie I never realized how much was marketed. So it was a learning experience all the same. Dakota was not to sure about the life size statues of the characters but he got over it after awhile. Day 3 of training  my self to eat better  Justin and I went to dinner and I did good. Stayed right on track no problems just reminded myself to keep on track and I did one hurdle concurred. Go me lol!! 

day 2

Well so far today has gone good was busy running errands took the dog to the dog park. Played the Xbox with Dakota and did laundry. Tried a new dish made some shredded beef turned out pretty good. I'm still finding the gym I want to go to but will have one by Wed. The kids will be back in school and I will have lots of free time. Hopefully I will be getting a call for an interview soon.

Day 1 of my Weight loss challange

Day 1

Today I went to weight watchers to get the new 360 program and start making some changes in my life time to get my fat ass off the couch and feel better. I wont say how much I weigh yet but I will say I have a long way to go to get there.  I'm hoping I will find someone to go work out with we will see if that happens one thing I have learned is other military wives talk about meeting new people and doing stuff but they just talk on the computer what ever happened to human contact looking someone in the eyes when you talk to them. But I will hopefully meet some people. So every week I'm going to make a goal for myself this week was go to WW meeting goal completed so I guess I need to make another to keep me motivated. Goal for this week find a gym on post and start going 3 days a week. Stay on track with good eating habits. So I am my own cheerleader now Go me!! 

Snow everywhere

Hello,

    Well we got 5 inches in snow yesterday. The kids were loving it yesterday while it was coming down could not keep them in the house freezing and all. Good thing they have warm snow clothes Lacy is the only one who does not have snow boots. But hopefully we will be getting some soon. We built a Snowman today kinda a ninja turtle, caption America hybrid. Dakota was the supervisor he tried to tell us what to do it was cute. Me and Lacy had fun making it the snow was still very flaky didn't stick very well that's why it was so small as you can see in the pic. Justin had fun this weekend had to put new brakes on my car front and back. Also trying to get the heater running in his new old truck it works a little but not warm enough for me. But he likes it so I guess I like it too. Still looking for work nothing yet so frustrating! Well off to bed for another day talk to you soon.
